COVID-19: Commissioner confirms 115 cases in Lagos as state loses another patient



Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi has confirmed that the state now has a record of 115 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
He also announced that the state has recorded a second death to the dreaded virus.
In a statement on his Twitter account-@ProfAkinAbayomi, the commissioner said the second person to die of coronavirus in Lagos was a 36 year old Nigerian male.
He wrote, “We lost a #COVID19 patient; a 36 year old Nigerian, male who died in a private facility on 4th April, 2020. Total number of #COVID19 patients who have died are now 2
“One case was evacuated bringing total evacuated to 2.
Let’s #StaySafe #ForAGreaterLagos.”
He also announced that the state as at morning of April 5, had six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 “bringing total confirmed cases to 115.”
He added, “A #COVID19 patient was discharged on 4th April, 2020. The number of #COVID19 patients who have fully recovered and discharged (in Lagos State) are now 24.

49 strippers, clubbers and Imam apprehended in Lagos

Seven inter-state buses with 95 passengers billed for night travel have been impounded by police in Lagos just before they took off, the command said on Sunday. The buses were discovered around 8pm on April 21 in the Bhojson area of Ebute Metta preparatory for departure for Benue, Abuja and Ilorin, spokesman Bala Elkana said in a statement. Elkana said drivers and passengers were charged to court, adding that they were among 620 violators arrested in one week from various parts of the state and charged to court for violating restriction order. Others included the Imam of Sheik Central Mosque, Mile 12 Ketu, Suleiman Abubakar, alleged to have held evening prayers (Maghrib and Isha prayers) in the mosque with a large number of worshippers on April 24.
