Ghastly accident in Oyo, 2 deaths recorded and others injured

Two people were on Sunday confirmed dead, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries as articulated truck crashed

motorcycles in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

It was gathered that the auto accident happened at Odo Oru area along Ogbomoso-Igbeti road when the trailer driver rammed into the motorcycle while driving against traffic.

The driver who was going to link express road via that route was said to have taken a wrong way to avoid several bad portion on the road when he was crushed.

An eye witness said the motorcyclist died immediately while two other people sustained injuries.

It was gathered that the victims were in critical condition before they were rushed to hospital for medical attention.

It was further learnt that few minutes later another trailer killed one of the passers-by in the same area.

As of the time of filling this report security operatives, fire service men and members of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were seen at the scene of the incident to avert breakdown of law and order and to clear the road.

“The road was one of the roads constructed by the immediate past administration in the state but was poorly constructed as several bad portions are on the road, the development forced Governor Seyi Makinde to rearward the road” the eye witness said.
